From the President – February 2026

February 2026

Dear SongWorks Educators,

It has been an unusually snowy and cold winter here in Cleveland, Ohio. We have already racked up seven snow days this year and have about a foot and a half of snow on the ground! My students are having a blast playing on the mountains of snow piled up in the school parking lot, and in the music room we are thinking warm thoughts by learning music from other parts of the world.

Because SongWorks is a principles-based approach to teaching, it’s easy for me to add new songs and techniques to my repertoire. Music mapping and antiphonning can be used with any style of music! When I go to state conferences, I can find something to take away from every session, even if I don’t follow the lesson sequence that was presented.

And speaking of conferences, I am so excited for our Virtual Conference Series coming up this April! I always come away with lots of lesson ideas that I can’t wait to use in my classroom. The conference gives me an energy boost to finish out the school year strong. This year we will be both reconnecting with our roots and looking to the future. We have sessions highlighting our philosophical roots, a spotlight on new technology for your students to use, and many engaging lesson ideas you can implement in your classroom. Registration is open now, so don’t wait!

I look forward to seeing all of you soon!

Anna
